Promoting excellence in research and learning in the area of electron devices
The Electron Devices Society of IEEE has decided to celebrate the year 2022-2023 as the 𝟳𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿. As a subsidiary organization of the EDS, 𝗜𝗘𝗘𝗘 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗕𝗖 𝗗𝗨 is organizing a poster presentation competition on the occasion of celebrating the 75th anniversary of the transistor. Electronics enthusiasts all over the country are cordially invited to submit their artistic and enthusiastic poster ideas about the transistor.
❏ 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀 & 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 :
1. 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 –
𝗧𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗰 : The following topics are available for participants to select from. Make a choice for a transistor, and use it as your theme. Any other transistor is also an option if you choose. Then, you are free to go! There are many transistors! For example:
● FinFETs
● Tunnel FETs
● Negative Capacitance FETs
● Mott-FET
● 2D materials-based FET
● CFET, MBC FET, Forksheet
● Nanosheet/ Nanowire/GAA FET
● FET based Biosensor (Ex. ISFET)
● FET based Integrated circuits and systems
● FET based memory devices (Ex. FeFET)
𝗘𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 : Participants may be from the same or different universities, but all participants must be “𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀”.
Participants in the competition can be:
● Individual
● Team based. Each team can have 2-3 members.
𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲.
𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁 : Each participant (or team) can submit only 1 poster with each registration.
2. 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 –
𝗢𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 : Design or propose a poster to encourage and promote a celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Transistor.
𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗶𝘇𝗲 : The poster must be made on the 𝟰𝟴’’ 𝗫 𝟯𝟲’’ (𝟭𝟰𝟰𝟬𝟬 𝗽𝘅 𝗫 𝟭𝟬𝟴𝟬𝟬 𝗽𝘅, 𝟯𝟬𝟬 𝗗𝗣𝗜) size sheet. Must be in 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁 with margin 𝟭 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗵.
𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 : The following essential information must be included in your poster. The work will be disqualified if any figures or data are not properly cited.
● Title
● Introduction
● Objectives
● Device structure
● Results and Discussion (Electrical Characteristics, field of
usage, working methodology etc.)
● Conclusions
● References (IEEE format, without proper reference any work
will not be accepted)
● Others
The Topic of the poster and theme should be clearly mentioned at the Top Margin of the Poster.
𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲 : The presenters/competitors are free to use 𝗔𝗱𝗼𝗯𝗲 𝗜𝗹𝗹𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗱𝗼𝗯𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗱𝗼𝗯𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 to create and design their posters.
3. 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 –
𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝗲 :
● 200 BDT (for IEEE members, minimum one member must have IEEE membership)
● 300 BDT (for Non-IEEE members)
● 150 BDT (for IEEE+EDS members)

6. 𝗝𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮 –
● Any kind of electronic devices (Ex. FET/MEMS/Sensors/Memory) and Integrated circuits and systems. Structure needs to be according to some renowned Journal reference or device roadmap guideline (Ex. ITRS 2028).
● Illustration should have a proper aspect ratio. Ex. Length of channel, oxide layer thickness, gate width etc.
● Each and every part of schematics should be clear and distinguishable.
● You should not submit any illustration by editing or reproducing any figure collected from the internet/Journal/Conference. In that case your submission will be eliminated.
● Proper color combination, color contrast, font size, font type etc. will carry a significant value.
● Any innovative design (except the core device structure) that makes the poster more attractive will carry some good points.
● Proper and clear explanation of the poster and device structure and operation is very much important.
